Hi, I’m Ben.
I create experiencescommercialsdocumentariesfilms

My approach to what I create is driven by a love of adventure and people. Whether it’s exposing a compelling brand story or crafting a scripted narrative, I aim to create visuals that spark emotional connections.

About me

A videographer and cinematographer based in the mountain town of Wanaka, New Zealand. My journey into filmmaking has been diverse and unconventional. From a previous life as a Police Officer in the UK and a Helicopter Rescue Crewman in New Zealand, my past has shaped my ability to think on my feet and communicate under pressure when it’s needed most.
At the heart of my craft is a deep passion for storytelling, particularly within the realms of expedition, documentary, and outdoor filming. I thrive on capturing and curating genuine and authentic stories, bringing creative visions to life through the lens. My technical expertise, the value I place on story, and my positive energy have earned me the trust of production companies, agencies, broadcasters, and brands looking to tell compelling stories.

Career Highlights

I’ve had the privilege of working on various high-profile projects,
such as:
• Shooter-Producer for Network USA’s international TV show, ‘Race to Survive’, capturing dynamic, remote-location footage in wilderness, alpine, marine, and cave environments.
• Director and Cinematographer for ‘The Adventure of Racing’, awarded Best Documentary at its debut film festival.
• Executive Producer and 1st AC for the scripted film ‘Planet 13’, directed by Joe Murdie.
